Benjamin Button Part Deux

Usually, full- frontal photos are hard to do. There are details you cannot overlook and per surface area, it is larger, hence needing more rapt attention to finer things. For this Benjamin Button movie poster, what made it more complicated was that there was not one but two faces that were full- frontal to do. Even with that, I found this project, personally very intriguing. The lights were brilliant, casting shadows on both subjects' faces creating that luminous glow. Both subjects had equally wonderful bone structures and looked very fresh.

Benjamin Button Part Une

Not very proud of this work. I thought I could've done better. I was so drawn in ensuring that Brad's face would be brought to life in my work but that unfortunately did not work out. It was difficult to capture the shadows on Brad's face because some were lighter shades of black as Brad was looking into the direction of the sunlight. However, that was not my real problem. The hardest part of this whole project was recreating his leather jacket. There were countless creases where shadows had fallen in and I had to make sure that the essence of it was reflected in the final product.
Though, even after all this,a 'Ben Button Part Two' will be coming soon!

Jessica Stam

One reason why I chose supermodel, Jessica Stam to do was because of her eyes. A few factors I weigh before I pick a photo to do would be that the original photo stems captivation and mind-stimulation. This photo of Jessica embodied both. She has been blessed with the alluring blue eyes that catapulted her to worldwide fame and this photo alone showed just that. It was difficult to set the tone of her eyes right but that was not the mass of my problem. The rest of it came from her hair color (not a very great attempt in mimicking likenesses in color for her darker streaks) because there were stray strands all over and I had to use different diameter brushes to get them right. I would say it's a tad harder than the Obama one but fortunately, the best part is to look at the end product. As usual, very self-satisfying for me.

Obama

I guess this is my trademark- cartooninzing a subject then retaining some parts of the original photo. I had a lot in mind when I chose this photo of Barack Obama. 1. He looked so distinguished. 2. The black and white theme. Though, the black and white theme was not really a great help since colors join up together if they're the same tone e.g. black goes with black so when you "paint bucket" that section, everything becomes black which was not my entire intention. I don't really know why I cast a shadow on the left side of Obama's face. It made things all the more difficult having to use the "lasso" tool to create a symmetrical shape to the original photo. This project took me 2 hours to complete.

The Dark Knight Part Deux

My first attempt using advanced photoshop. Making the Joker appear to be creeping up from behind Batman was extremely complicated the first round. Then as I was finishing up the final touches, the photoshop app hanged and I had no choice but to close the whole thing. The second round, the app hanged again and I, irritated, left this project hanging for a few hours. Well, you can say that third time's a charm's a cliche but I believed it after I got this project done the third time around. The great part of it was the main setting was dark which made it easier for me to combine The Joker's scene with the main layer.
